Business Development Executive

Person Spec The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and driven individual with a passion for achieving excellence and delighting their customers. They must be able to work within a pressurised environment and have the ability to manage their own time effectively. A high standard of written English is essential, as is a full, clean driving licence.

The role demands high levels of interpersonal skills as communication and building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders is vital to the roles’ success.

An Honours degree in a relevant discipline such as Marketing, Business, Finance or Packaging Technology would be highly desirable, but the requirement for enthusiasm, commitment and versatility is essential.

Job Spec Key responsibilities and accountabilities include (but may not be limited to):

  • Identifying potential leads using a variety of research techniques
  • Cold calling
  • Building relationships with prospective customers, learning about their needs with a strong customer service focus
  • Taking accurate product specifications for quoting
  • Visiting existing and potential customers across the UK
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through individual account support
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets for new and existing business.
  • Ensure customer retention through strong relationships and excellent customer service
  • Maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems.
  • Attend and presenting at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
  • Carrying out reasonable additional duties when business needs require
