NEW - Flexographic Printer

Full time

Job Summary

Label Apeel are looking for a Flexographic Printer who will be responsible for producing high quality self adhesive labels (up to 8 colour) using multiple processes. The applicant must be able to consistently meet customer specifications following strict quality control procedures.

 Key responsibilities in this role will require the applicant to:

  • Make ready, run and clean down narrow web flexo presses.
  • Use spectrophotometer to manage colour and print quality
  • Be proactive in problem solving and identifying and developing process improvement opportunities
  • Select most appropriate methods and equipment to produce the highest possible quality print, e.g. anilox volume and print order
  • Identify problems, perform press maintenance and minor repairs as required
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, using both face to face and written methods of communication
  • Liaise and attend meetings with team members and other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
  • Attend training when required to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Trainee Repro Mac Operator

Full time

Job Summary:  We are looking for a reliable and conscientious candidate with a good knowledge of computers and strong attention to detail. Previous experience in the print industry is preferable, but not compulsory. 

Qualifications:      A high standard of written English and good IT skills. You will have a minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C and preferably a GCSE in Design. A reasonable A level, AS level or Btec Dip. result would be also beneficial.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • You will be trained in how to examine artwork files supplied and create print ready files to our in house standards for flexo and digital printing.
  • You will gain experience of various relevant software applications, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, whilst working in a print reprographics environment.
  • Training will be provided to understand how print specific instructions are followed.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, using both face to face and written methods of communication.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with team members and other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
  • Carrying out reasonable additional duties when business needs require.

Customer Account Manager

Reports to:          Customer Services Manager

Job Summary:   Building, developing and maintaining customer relationships by working closely with the Sales Team and Customer Services Manager.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Raise and proactively follow up estimates.
  • Process jobs, ensuring accurate and complete information is given to the Production team.
  • Ensure the customer is made aware of additional or amended costs in a timely fashion and the system is updated.
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by email, telephone, and personal visits.

Planning & Purchasing Assistant

Reports to:          Production Director

Job Summary: To work closely with and in support of the Planning and Purchasing Manager, assisting the purchasing of tooling and raw materials and aiding the planning of work on the printing presses and rewinding machines.   

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • To support the Planning & Purchasing Manager with planning work on printing presses and rewinding machines, amending plans when required in response to customer demand
  • Purchasing of tooling
  • Purchasing of inks and raw materials, working closely with the Planning & Purchasing Manager ensuring optimum price and service levels
  • Carrying out monthly stock takes of raw materials and inks
  • Liaising with different departments to ensure effective communication of lead times and delivery dates
  • To support the Planning & Purchasing Manager on a daily basis and to cover for them in their absence
  • Assisting with allocating material to jobs and maintaining effective stock control
  • Carrying out other duties if the business requires

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and driven individual who operates in an efficient, organised manner. They must be able to work within a pressurised environment and be able to manage their own time effectively.

Previous experience in the printing industry in a planning or purchasing role would be preferable but a positive, flexible attitude is essential. The successful candidate must possess a high standard of written English and good IT skills. Experience of effectively managing stock flow in a manufacturing environment would also be desirable.
