Label of the Month: August 2015

For August's Label of the Month we couldn't resist giving it to the deliciously tasting and looking, Cambridge Gin and here's why:

The Cambridge Distillery is the world's first Gin Tailor, famed for creating bespoke recipes a single bottle at a time. The label is a really clever use of different materials to create a truly stunning effect. The designer has used the back label to its maximum by using a clear material to give the impression of a two sided label. With the gin being transparent the imagery is carried through the bottle and magnified. This also creates movement as the natural shape of the bottle will magnify differently as people walk past the shelf, drawing people in. The pretty floral design pays homage to the botanicals used in the gin and perfectly frames the brand name.

The distinguishing feature on the front of the bottle is how the designer has used Tinteretto Gesso material, a very high quality material with a lovely rich feel to it. This again is set in contrast with a high build gloss finish picking out the brand name and everything is finished with a silver foil.

By combining the 2 different materials and also making the front label the size it is gives the product a depth that makes it stand out on shelf. The imagery here does not do the product real justice but take our word for it the finished product looks amazing. We were super proud to work on this design and also to work with the great team at Cambridge Distillery.

Give yourself an end of summer treat and buy a bottle.
