We recently asked our twitter followers what Label Apeel had in common with former international rugby player Thom Evans. Well, the answer is Proverb. Inspired by the world of elite sports nutrition, Proverb is making waves in the the male skincare market by coupling the routine of a training programme with natural and organic ingredients, creating a daily skincare programme that's engaging and effective. With sporting giants Will Greenwood and Thom Evans already behind the company's ethos, it's clear that Proverb's mindset and approach to male skincare speaks volumes.
Brand owners Luke and Kirstie Sherriff created Proverb by combining their individual successes in sport and beauty. After meeting at Oxford University, Luke was signed to Harlequins RFC and played in Premiership and top flight rugby for eleven years; including caps for the England and Great Britain 7s and the Barbarians. Meanwhile, Kirstie mader an equally impressive name for herself in the development of beauty schools, an organic certified spa product and working globally with spas such as Cowley Manor and The Scarlet and, in 2015, Kirstie was listed as the Number One Most Influential Person in the Natural Beauty Yearbook ‘Who’s Who’. Setting up Proverb together with Ben Burch (a former Great Britain Rower and dedicated IT expert with the mental drive to complete the ferocious Marathon Des Sables - seriously, look it up), the Sherriff's had all they needed to develop an innovative skincare range. Everything, except for labels...
For Proverb's skincare range, Label Apeel produced ten digitally printed labels on White Polyprop; including a range of five peel and read labels and five bottle designs. For the bottle labels, we added a matt laminate with gloss screen varnish over the top in order to create the intricate and luxurious textures that can be seen across the different segments of the design. Ensuring crisp, clear registration was paramount in the execution of this print and we're ecstatic to have been involved in the launch of this truly innovative brand.
