Welcome to Label Apeel Ltd. The home of world class decorative labels. And this our overview of peal and read labels. So, lets dive straight in to peal and read labels. A smart, multi-layered solution that delivers more information without sacrificing space or design.
Peel & Read labels, also known as peel and reveal labels, are designed to expand the surface area of your packaging, providing additional details like instructions, ingredients, or promotions in a layered format. Think of them as mini brochures built right into your product packaging. On the face we have all the promotional and branding activity, while on the hidden layers we have more functional information . Its important to remember that we also have the capability to print on the adhesive side as well. So we are not doubling the amount of space we have but tripling it. Worth keeping in mind
These labels are perfect for industries that require compliance information, multilingual text, special offers, or promotional activity, or just want to include more branding or product details, all without cluttering the surface. They’re functional, flexible, and cost-effective. You have just got to get imaginative with it.
Now lets go and have a look at how these are put together
The first step in the process is printing the face side image. What do we mean by face side image. This is the image that is going on to the front of the substrate and we use this term to differentiate it, because we can also print on the adhesive side, but more of that later. The label we are looking at is a 3 ply peal and read. That means it has 3 layers and 5 faces we can use to carry information. What we can see here is all three of the different layers being printed at the same time. In the next process we will bring this all together and form it into a booklet.
The printing press we are using is a digital printing press. This brings you a lot of potential additional benefits. These benefits include every label being different, incorporating variable data. This could be linked to a promotional offer, a competition or any number of other ways of engaging with the end consumer.
Lets go and take a look at how it is all brought together
So how do we do we produce these wonderful devices:
- Our first step is to put the reverse side printing on to the adhesive. To do this we need to separate the web from the backing aper and pass t through the printing head. We then reapply the liner to the label, allowing it to carry on its way to our turnbar. The turnbar does exactly what it says. It turns the material over allowing us to start working on the face side.
- We then put a coating on to the top of the 2 sides that are going to be our bottom 2 pages. This stops the adhesive from becoming permanently stuck. At this stage we will also make one area completely adhesive free. This is our tab that will allow us to lift the product easily. And we will also have an area where the adhesive will stick permanently. This is the spine of the label and means that the 3 parts stay intact throughout their lifetime.
- Now we get to the magical part where all 3 layers are brought together to form up in to a single piece of layered material. Still not quite a finished label but starting to look a lot more like the finished product. The material is slit and the different layers moved in to the correct position.
- The final part of the process is to die cut the labels. The labels can be cut in to almost any shape you like but mostly we see rectangles or circles. The waste web is stripped away and what we have now is a finished 3 ply label that is going to enhance our product, extend our marketing reach and allow us to multiply up the information we can carry.
You'll find Peel & Read labels in a variety of industries:
- In the vaping sector, they provide ingredients information on what is a very small package.
- In food packaging, they accommodate multilingual content or promotional offers.
- And in beauty products, they often reveal additional instructions or ingredient lists.
The possibilities are endless."
