Mixing Inks and Sparking Curiosity: A Day in Print at Label Apeel
Share
At Label Apeel, we recently welcomed a group of students into our factory to experience the world of premium label printing first-hand. From mixing inks to setting up finishing equipment, they got a real taste of the craft, technology and career opportunities in print.
Opening our doors to a brilliant group of students this week was a powerful reminder of why inspiring the next generation matters so much.
At Label Apeel, we’re passionate about showing young people the real possibilities within print, design and manufacturing – beyond what they might see in a classroom or a textbook. Helping them understand how ideas become beautifully finished labels gives them a tangible sense of how creativity, engineering and technology come together to shape brands and products.
During the visit, we took them behind the scenes of our shopfloor: talking through what makes our labels world class, demonstrating different finishes, colour matching on the digital presses, ink mixing and plate laying. They even got hands-on, helping to mix inks and set up the Digicon, so they could see how these processes work in real time rather than just watching from the sidelines.
Opportunities like this are about more than a “nice visit”. They give young people space to ask questions, see real careers in action and make more informed decisions about their futures with confidence and curiosity.
We’re incredibly proud to collaborate with Young People in Print & Packaging (YPIPP) and to play a small part in sparking that curiosity – whether it leads them into our amazing industry or simply opens their eyes to paths they hadn’t considered before.
